Program Description
This facility is a preschool center for children ages 2-5 including ½ day kindergarteners. We are open Monday-Friday from 8:30-5:30. Children need not be potty trained for this program. We accept both subsidized, and unsubsidized payment. Children must be enrolled a minimum of two days per week. But, we are very flexible with scheduling.
We believe that children learn best through play and experience. Because of this philosophy, children are given ample time to explore the classroom, materials, toys and activities. A large group will take place every day exposing the children to reading, counting, singing and group participation. We plan on inviting community guests to share their talents in art, yoga, gymnastics, music and more. The children will also cook, garden, and take part in daily small group activities.
At our school you will see:
-No lines to stand in, only games to play.
-No patterns to follow, only materials with which to create.
-No drilling of numbers and letters, only reading of books, puzzles to enjoy, and fun counting games about toys and friends.
-No abstract ideas children become frustrated by, but activities that are related to their life, developmental level, and interests.
